FAQ

How does VAT affect my price?
Your price is before VAT; what the buyer pays depends on their country

You set your price before VAT. At checkout Ledger adds VAT at the rate for the buyer's country and accounts for it to the tax office, so the buyer pays a little more in some countries than in others. Your share is always worked out on your price before VAT, so it is the same wherever the buyer is.

A buyer in the UK (VAT 20%)Buyer pays
A buyer in the EU (VAT 21%, median)Buyer pays

You receive (70%), wherever the buyer is. VAT is never part of anyone's share.

Examples for a consumer. The EU line uses the median of the EU's standard rates, a fair average: across the EU they run from 17% to 27%, and the buyer pays their own country's rate. Business buyers with a valid VAT number may be charged none, under the reverse charge.

Can I sell individual sounds?
Yes, once a library is approved, from £3 a sound

Yes. Once a library is approved, before it goes live, you can switch single sounds on from its page: one price per sound, the same for every sound in that library, from £3 before VAT. Your share is the same as for the whole library. You can keep any sound for the whole library only, and a buyer's single sounds count toward the library if they buy it later, so your share comes out the same as a direct library sale.
